Planned Improvements, Changes, and Additions
ENLARGER AREA - I'm going to take the things off the wall behind the enlarger and paint it flat black.   I'll also paint the side of the plastic drawer unit flat black.  I haven't noticed any light reflecting off the wall while printing, but why take chances?

8-29-05 Update - Painted the wall, the sides of the drawer units and the ceiling over the enlarger area flat black.
VENTILATION - I'm using a 120cfm exhaust fan, located over the door to the basement, and ducted to the outside through a wall.  I don't get as much air movement over the sink as I'd like.  I'm considering putting a piece of plastic pipe with a slit cut in it over the sink, and piping it to the fan.  I think 2" or 3" pipe with a 1/4" wide slit cut in it on a table saw would work.  If I pipe it to the fan, and block off the rest of the fan inlet, all the air to the fan would be pulled from over the sink.
MOUNTING TABLE - Right now, I use 2 folding tables in the basement for cutting mats & mounting.  One table just holds the full sheets of mat board.  After I cut the mats, I put the cutter on the table with the full sheets & use the other one for assembling everything.  So, I'll build a table on locking casters that will have shelves big enough for full sheets of board, and use the top for either the cutter (Logan 750) or the press.  The first shelf below the top will hold the press when not in use.  The locking casters will keep it from moving while using it, and allow me to roll it out of the way when not in use.
AIR CONDITIONING ? - Not sure about this.  In the summer it gets well over 80 in there, but given the layout, there's no way to vent an air conditioner outside.  The roll-around units I've seen have about 6ft of hose for the outlet, & I'd need about 15ft to  vent it to the outside.  I have considered mounting it in the opening to the rest of the basement, closing off the rest of the opening & venting it into the larger part of the basement.  This would cool the darkroom, but turn the rest of the basement into a sauna.  I'll have to think about this one for a while yet.
